Why book me as a makeup artist for your wedding?

As a bridal makeup artist, I understand how important it is to look your best on your wedding day. I specialise in natural makeup throughout all my work and your bridal makeup should be no exception. I believe in enhancing a bride’s natural beauty and not masking it. Every bride is unique and has her own style and therefore a bride’s makeup should reflect that, I listen to my brides and how they want their makeup. I will work with you and make suggestions to create your perfect, unique look. You will be able to relax, feeling confident that you will look and feel beautiful, but most importantly like yourself on your big day. I will ensure your makeup looks beautiful not only on camera but also to the naked eye.

Do I need to pay a booking fee?

Yes, a booking fee of £50 is required to secure your booking and wedding date. Bookings are not put into my diary until payment has been made. Your booking may not be guaranteed if you delay making payment after you have decided to proceed with booking.

Is the booking fee refundable?

The booking fee is non-refundable upon cancellation and also cannot be transferred to another date. If cancellation is made by the artist, the booking fee will be refunded.

Do you have a minimum / maximum booking number?

The minimum booking requirement is 3 people and the maximum is 6 people. For bookings over 6 people, an additional makeup artist can be hired (dependent on availability). Enquire for more information about this.

How do I make payment?

Payment can be made by sending via bank transfer.

Can I pay my full balance?

The remaining balance (after booking fee) can be sent over anytime during the week before the wedding, but before the day itself.

Do I need a trial prior to the wedding day?

Trials are highly reccomended, to try out the kind of look you want and ensure that you feel comfortable with what you’ve chosen. We can make as many tweaks needed until you are completely happy with the look. Trials ensure brides can relax and trust that they are in safe hands with me and will love their bridal makeup I create for them. Having a trial also means it's one less thing to worry about.

What should I do to prepare for my trial?

Before your trial, you should research the bridal style you think you might like and show me at your trial, so I can create the perfect bridal look based on your preferences. If you have already chosen your dress, it would be great if you could wear a top with a similar neckline and colour to your trial, as well as having your hair in a similar style to what you'll be going for, so we can get a good likeness of how the finished product will look on your wedding day.

How much time should I allow for my trial?

You should allow at least 2 hours for a makeup trial. We can try different styles and make adjustments until you are completely satisfied and finalise the look.

What to expect on the wedding day?

Before the day, I will send over an itinerary of when everyone is scheduled to have their makeup done, so everyone will be ready for their turn in the makeup chair and ensure everything runs as smoothly as possible. Bridal makeup is usually last, to ensure it will be perfect when you are ready to leave and will last longer. On your wedding day you want to feel and look your very best and so having perfect bridal makeup is highly important. I will make sure that everything is prepared and organised. I want your bridal makeup experience to be as enjoyable as possible. I will make sure that you feel relaxed, pampered and prepared to enjoy your special day. Last minute touch-ups will be made before you leave for the ceremony, to ensure you look your best in your photographs and for your partner.

How much time should I allow for makeup on the wedding day?

You should allow 1 hour for bridal makeup and 45 minutes for bridal and wedding party members.

How long do you stay for?

After all my makeup clients are done, I will stay with you until you are ready to leave for touch ups. I also offer additional packages if you would like to book me for touch ups throughout your day.

Can you stay for touch ups throughout the wedding day?

This is an additional service I can offer. If you are interested in booking me for additional time on the wedding day please let me know when enquiring.

If I don’t book additional time on the day, do I get anything to touch up myself?

Yes, all bridal party members will be provided with a touch up kit. This includes: loose powder, powder puff, lip colour / gloss, applicators, tissue, oil blotting sheet and a compressed flannel.

How far do you travel?

I am based in Malton but I am able to travel to the areas I cover, I cover Malton, Pickering, Scarborough and surrounding areas. Please be aware that to travel out to you and venues there will be a small charge of 0.50p per mile travelled plus an additional call out fee. Travel that requires more than a 2-hour drive will also require overnight accommodation to be provided the night before.

Why does bridal makeup cost more than regular makeup?

The makeup is 50% of how our time is spent, the other 50% consists of emails, trials, correspondence, preparation, travelling and on the day we have to consider any disruptions to the makeup application, as wedding mornings can be hectic!

With bridal makeup, the level of service goes beyond the norm. You are receiving a bespoke experience, everything has been taken into consideration to create a unique makeup look. As a makeup artist, I get to know my brides very well, and you should be reassured that you can think of me as your friend and confidante.

I am providing you with a luxury experience, we are using top quality makeup and creating a look that lasts and withstands kisses, tears and all elements. This is the red carpet of makeup! I also provide my brides with a touch up kit, including foundation, lipstick, powder, applicators, tissues and oil blotting sheets.

By booking a bridal makeup artist, you are relieving yourself of the stress of having to do it, you and your bridal party will be left in my capable hands, ensuring you can relax on your big day and look your absolute best. You are passing the responsibility onto me, which is why I recommend you have at least one trial beforehand, so you will be even more confident that you are happy with the look we have created and won't have any stress on the day that you won't like the finished result. We have one shot, it has to be perfect and I am known for being quite the perfectionist. I promise you will be in safe hands with me to create a look that will make you feel beautiful, like yourself and that you will look back on in years to come and still be as in love...
